Cameratta Properties, L.P. donates $25,000 to Edison-Ford Winter Estates

FORT MYERS, FLA—Cameratta Properties, L.P. (www.cameratta.com) continues its dedication to revitalizing Historic Downtown Fort Myers while honoring the city’s rich historic traditions with recent support of The Edison-Ford Foundation and The Historic Museum at the Edison-Ford Estates.

The $25,000 donation by Joseph Cameratta and Cameratta Properties will go a long way to help The Edison-Ford Foundation meet the $3 million private fundraising goal necessary to meet matching requirements in order to guarantee state funding.

The foundation has raised more than $1.4 million to fund the homes’ restoration efforts.   Completed projects include: a Historical Structures Report, a Cultural Landscape Report, a Strategic Plan, restoration of Mrs. Edison’s grand piano and the reproduction of a damaged family portrait.

A gift to the City of Fort Myers donated by Mrs. Mina Edison in 1947, the Edison-Ford Winter Estates have drawn hundreds-of-thousands of visitors by offering a glimpse inside the fascinating world of Thomas Edison.  The main house, Seminole Lodge, was designed entirely by Edison complete with numerous inventions, such as, electric chandeliers called “electroliers” and is situated on 14 riverfront acres complete with tropical botanical gardens originally used as an experimental garden by Edison.

â€œWe have a strong sense of history and respect for the past,” said Cameratta Properties CEO, Joseph Cameratta. “Supporting The Edison-Ford Foundation is one of the best ways to help preserve the character of this great city.”
